Licorice Panna Cotta
Recipe courtesy of Amarelli, www.liquirizia.it

Serves 5

You'll love this creamy panna cotta, which has just the perfect touch of tangy licorice.

To make licorice powder, just put a handful of Amarelli hard licorice candies into a spice or coffee grinder and pulse for a few seconds.

2 cups heavy cream
1 cup milk
1/3 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons Amarelli licorice powder, plus more as garnish
3 teaspoons powdered unflavored gelatin, such as Knox
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons rum

Combine the cream, milk, sugar, and licorice in a saucepan and bring to a low boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 5 minutes, to combine flavors. Remove from the heat and stir in the gelatin, vanilla and rum.

Pour the mixture into six 1/2 cup ramekins, Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 6 hours or until set.
