Gianduiotti Dessert Pasta

Serves 4

Pasta and chocolate for dessert?! YES! Home cooks, especially in Italy's Piedmont region, serve it all the time. Just think of it as a quicker to make, more delicious version of bread pudding.

Serve this to your friends and they will be talking about you and your inventive, delicious dessert for months to come.

Gianduiotti are small triangular shaped Italian candies made with ground smooth hazelnuts and chocolate.

1/2 pound Angel hair pasta
12 gianduiotti
Whipped cream, mascarpone cheese, or chopped hazelnuts, optional

Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain.

Put 1 gianduiotti in each of 4 wine glasses. Divide the hot pasta between the glasses and top each with 2 more gianduiotti.

Serve immediately, topped with a dollop of whipped cream or mascarpone cheese, or sprinkle of hazelnuts, if you like.
